One Button Waistcoat

Every once in a while you come across a winner of a pattern and you want to make one in every color. This One Button Waistcoat by Sirdar is that kind of pattern. A customer of ours came in wearing this vest whereupon we demanded the pattern. She indulged us and I chose to knit it in charcoal grey Chunky by Misti Alpaca. I took a chance with this alpaca thinking that it was so soft and drapey that it wouldn't look too bulky. It worked. Many a customer has tried this vest on in the past week or so and it looks terrific on everyone. The small and medium take 6 skeins of Chunky and the large takes 7. So it's a bit of an investment but when you know it's going to look good on you and feel great, it is definitely worth it.

  12. Ravelry has this pattern One Button Waistcoat also known as 8832 Sirdar Click Chunky but on the Love Knitting website it shows up as a completely different pattern.
This One Button Waistcoat pattern does not show up on the Sirdar website. I think this pattern has been removed due to the yarn being probably discontinued.
The other patterns 9239 and 7873 are different because of the stitch pattern and design style.
    Hope this makes it clear.
I am going to write to Sirdar to get to the bottom of this confusion.

  14. Hello, I was unable to find your one-button waistcoat pattern using the pattern numbers referenced in the comments section. Would you please send me the pattern or the actual pattern link. I really love how yours turned out! If you would make any suggestions regarding the yarn, that you found worked well for this pattern, I would appreciate it. I am a new knitter. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.

  15. I would also be interested in buying this pattern. The Ravelry site shows that Pulbication pattern #8832 is out of print.
