A Knitter's Approach to Summer
From Debbie Stoller, the author of Stitch N' Bitch, who knows what Summer is all about! We've got some beautiful Worsted Cotton by Blue Sky Alpaca that makes the most beautiful baby blankets. It's organic, incredibly soft, and has a worsted weight gauge (rather unusual for cotton) so it works up faster than most. Check out the their incredible color palette which has grown more beautiful with the years!

A Puzzling Stash Buster!
Oh how I love this stash buster!!! What a great summer project. Small pieces, portable, colorful, quick..what more could you ask for? This Puzzle Pieces Pattern is on Ravelry, of course, for $5 (yes, it's a paid one but worth it!). I'm going to pull out all my worsted weight stash yarn, go through the colors, pick a palette and one unifying color (which I will probably buy) and get going NOW! There are corner pieces, edge pieces and middle pieces. Fun! The knitter who did the puzzle pieces pictured slightly felted hers, which is a cool idea. Also, check out the other projects posted. One knitter made a quilt out of hers by backing it and inserting batting. Oh, I've got it!!!! I think what I might do is make a diaper changing cloth that just rolls up. Wouldn't it be fun to do the puzzle in Blue Sky Alpacas' Worsted Cotton (organic, oh-so-soft and washable) and back it with one of judipatuti's awesome laminated fabrics (also machine washable)? Put a contrasting bias tape around the edges and a grosgrain tie. I'm on it!
